Swadhar Yojana 2024-25 is a significant scheme launched by the Department of Social Justice & Special Assistance for extending financial assistance and shelter to students from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Neo-Buddhist categories in Maharashtra, who do not receive exemption under Hostel Grant Regulations.

What is Swadhar Yojana?

Swadhar Yojana is an assistance program installed by Social Justice & Special Assistance Department [Maharashtra] to help such SC students, who are not getting fees from govt. hostels for staying, and they take private lodgings near the educational institutions to continue their studies.

The primary objective of the scheme is to provide financial support in the form of coaching / tuition fee and other expenses as per actual for economically weaker section students, so that they can continue their education.

Under this role, qualifying students are provided with allowances for food, accommodation and living expenses each year.

The amount of aid varies by location:

• ₹60,000 per year for those in metro cities like Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
• ₹50,000 per annum in divisional cities.
• ₹43,000 in other rural or ‘C’ class areas.
