  • Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma has launched the MMUA scheme.
  • The scheme is mainly for women from self-help groups (SHGs).
  • It will be implemented with an estimated cost of ₹4,000 crore.
  • In the first year, each SHG worker will get ₹10,000.
  • Eligible women will receive a total of ₹35,000 in 3 installments.

Eligibility Criteria for MMUA 2025

  1. Women must be members of self-help groups (SHGs) recognized under ASRLM.
  2. They need a savings bank account linked with Aadhaar.
  3. Applicants should have no pending loan defaults with SHGs, banks, or credit institutions.
  4. A practical business plan is required to start or expand their work.
  5. Must already be involved in at least one income-generating activity.
  6. Family size conditions: maximum 3 children for General/OBC and 4 children for SC/ST.
  7. If applicable, a Sankalp Patra (pledge letter) must be submitted, promising to follow family size rules.
  8. All school-going daughters should be enrolled in school.
  9. Must take part in Amrit Brikshya Andolan by planting and maintaining saplings.
